"Well, the real winter weather held off long enough to try out this new Grasshopper/ Peruzzo mower.
I'm on three acres of rough pasture. My last mowing of tall grass in September was with a walk- behind brush cutter resulting in that always attractive- trampled and chewed look. It took three days, lots of Tylenol, and management was not happy. No where to go but up, right?
Joe, thanks for having the mower lubed, fueled and ready to go off the trailer.
After a brief orientation I headed out into the mess I'd left in Sept.  Even with the cutter head relatively set high, it would pull up and cut matted grass leaving just a fine mulch in the path. And it cuts a 5 foot swath which just seems huge. I kept trying to choke or lug the mower head with ever-thicker swaths of dense grass. I had windrows of long grass I'd trimmed out from shrubs. I loaded it up. I didn't flinch or lug- just kept spitting out the fine mulch. It's a beast. The only thing I didn't use was the ROPS but not for lack of trying. The end product was a pleasing uniformly mowed field- quickly and no Tylenol required.
I've a few more hours before the rains hit so I'll save my questions for later, but my first impressions are great. Thanks for your help getting it here".
